TOAD: February 2nd, 2007: For our final Restaurant Week meal of 2007, Karen and I switched it up to lunch style and hit up Kittichai down on Thompson b/t Broome and Spring for some more Thai food because apparently we cannot get enough of it. Strangely, Karen and I ended up ordering the same exact meal which might be a testament to us having the same exact taste (not likely) or to Kittichai’s RW menu being slightly restrictive.

We went with Tom Yum Soup (pictured above), A Roasted Line Caught Fish in a broth and a Chocolate Pudding with Hazelnut Ice Cream and Cardamom Sauce. All in all it was an excellent meal with the starter and dessert tied for a very close 1st. I had never had that soup before but I’ll definitely be having it again – it was three soft shrimp dumplings set adrift in a slightly spicy, very flavorful broth. After lunch we grabbed a couple Cafe Americanos (trying these out as our go-to coffee drinks – great stuff) and walked through Washington Square Park before heading back to work.
