Spring Productive Weekend

Team Kane Street had a busy and productive weekend, which is good because the next month is booked up with events every weekend.

Friday we had some drinks at Les Deux Gamins, dinner at Mary’s Fish Camp, which I just love, and more drinks at the Vol De Nuit. After, we hopped on the A train to Harlem to go see Bloc Party, which was awesome, and the venue, United Palace Theatre, was truly stunning. We caught up with Kevin after the show and local trained it back downtown for another drink at The Marshall Stack before heading home.

Saturday we made a trip to Prospect Park with Sasha where she ran around with her friends as we trekked over to the farmers market for local honey. I hear it is good for allergies and after last year, I am willing to try anything. After our visit to the market we made a dreaded trip to Staples to find a filing cabinet. Staples came up empty, but we luckily stumbled upon a more helpful Office Max in the Atlantic Mall. Yay! We can file things! Or rather, I napped while Alex filed. We wrapped up the day with the “Fog of War” and the Ohio State basketball game–which by the way, thanks to their win, I am now in second place in our bracket–competing against first place Carin Gorrell for the big win tonight. She has Florida as the winner. We’ll see who goes home $150 richer tonight. OSU! OSU! OSU! Go Bucks! And sorry guys, I have to say it: GO GIRLS! Carin, I look at this as our come back from that awful game night.

Sunday we made another trip to the park, had breakfast at Dizzy’s and then watched an episode of Planet Earth (so good if you have not seen it yet) before completely cleaning our apt from floor to ceiling, which I also hear is good for allergies. I played a good game of keep or ditch, where you go through your closet and get rid of things you no longer wear. The game usually ends up being keep or keep for me, but this time I did really well and dropped off our give aways at the donation box on 4th ave and 14th street in Park Slope (if you are looking–I feel like this question always comes up). We packed up the car with old magazines (for my Mom and sister) and winter clothes and skis to hand off on Easter to my parents. It felt so good to clear out the apartment.

Last night Sara brought over some delicious Guinness cupcakes with chocolate ganache and schooled us on the ways of keeping kosher during Passover. These cupcakes do not qualify as keeping kosher. Then we embarked on salad night and “Hoop Dreams”. So not only did we clear out a bunch of clothes and seasonal stuff, but we also released a bunch of netflix that had been hanging around for awhile. And yes, it is super lame to be this pleased with one’s self for doing a little spring cleaning.
